If you understand permission based email marketing you will see a big improvement in your results. You will get higher open rates, increased conversions and customers that actually look forward to getting your emails.
Email Marketing has Changed
We must first understand that email marketing has changed. You can no longer just send out offer after offer to your email list hoping people will eventually buy something. This is going to burn your list and people will unsubscribe and be gone forever. Business online is in the midst of a massive boom as the Internet advances. Your customers are just like you and you are just like them. Its all about delivering REAL VALUE to your subscribers and making them look forward to your emails.
The Double Opt-In
Permission based email marketing will always use a double opt-in. This is when a prospect visits your website and enters their email address as normal, however the prospect then gets sent an email asking them to 'Confirm' that they asked to join your email list. This starts the process of asking for permission. They will then recognize you when you send them an email. This is actually a really good feature if you know how to use it. You should always use a double opt in. I'll show you why later.
Getting Excellent Results
Now that your prospects have requested to be contacted, you are in a great position to begin your email marketing campaign. Here are a couple of tips. Get a system in place for collecting a list of prospects from the people who visit your website. Have another system in place that converts these prospects in to first time buyers. Next set up a 'rule' that puts your customers automatically on to a 'customer' list. You then send a different kind of email to previous customers, they are a lot more valuable. You must keep your prospects and customers separate. Your goal is build a list of buyers. You will then have a powerful asset for your business. This is when you can see huge profits from your existing customer list.
